Tovacov Marathon 2012
The long-distance swimming competition took place in Tovacov on 2 June, 2012 for the second time, within the Czech Long-distance Swimming Cup. The event was entitled Tovacov Marathon due to the fact that swimmers competed on courses from 1 up to 15 km.
Monika Bandikova, director of the compatition, added: "In the future we hope to have longer courses. Furthermore, with the approval of Czech-Moravian Gravel, who made it possible for us to organise the event here, we have agreed a contract allowing us to swim here for the next ten years."
The swimming competition was also supported by Leon Bouchal, the Mayor of Tovacov: "The town council has decided to promote the Tovacov Marathon mainly because we think there is a lot to offer - there is a wonderful natural water area here. We firmly believe that also such sports events can do much in order to promote this area, to promote our town."
